Suitable Swimwear, Equipment and Pool Hygiene

In the interests of hygiene and safety, please ensure you wear suitable swimwear & use appropriate equipment when using the swimming pool.

Suitable swimwear includes:

  • Swimming costumes
  • Bikinis
  • Tankinis
  • Swimming trunks
  • Swim shorts (above knee)
  • Rash Vests or Tops
  • Lycra (or similar material) Leggings
  • Lycra (or similar material), close fitting full-body swim suits
  • Burqinis

Swimwear should be of a suitable material, i.e. not get excessively heavy or become transparent when wet. Please also note that babies are required to wear swim nappies that fit correctly.

If you have medical, religious or personal reasons for wanting to wear alternative, loose fitting clothing, please speak to a member of our team, who will check that what you are wearing is safe and suitable for swimming in. We reserve the right to deem what is appropriate swimwear.

Please also note that the use of fins, snorkels, face masks and other swim aids may be restricted in general, public swim sessions. Please contact reception for further information and times when the use of such equipment is permitted. Glass goggles and face masks should never be used in the pool.

In the interest of pool hygiene, we ask all customers to follow the guidance below:

  • Please shower before entering the pool.
  • Do not swim if you have suffered from diarrhoea in the last 48 hours (those who have been diagnosed with cryptosporidiosis must not swim for 14 days after diarrhoea has stopped.
  • Do not swim if you have an infectious illness or open sores.
  • Do not swim if under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Please do not wear outdoor footwear on poolside.
